| - I am glad that I finally got to see Tim and Faith at Venetian.
For those of you that don't know - Tim and Faith had a very successful ARENA tour called Soul 2 Soul a few years back. So it's a great treat to be able to see such wonderfully talented artists in an intimate venue like the Venetian Theater.
It wasn't too loud. If you are going to complain about the volume at a music show, you shouldn't be attending. They have an 8 piece band backing them up, and at no time did I think they were playing obscenely loud. Pretty typical for any show, let alone in Vegas.
As for any show, you should pick up your tickets as soon as possible (I would suggest picking them up a couple of hours in advance and going to dinner), and be to the theater for entry no less than 15 minutes prior to showtime. I have yet to attend a show that wasn't crowded and didn't take at least 10 minutes to find your seat or get a drink or whatever. Save yourself the agony and just get there early.
Our seats were in Section 9 of the Mezzanine, row HH, seats 60 and 61 (on the aisle). I thought that they weren't going to be that great, but I was wrong. We had a great view of the stage, even though we weren't center. I found there to be plenty of leg room as well, which is a miracle these days.
Here is a VERY important piece of advice: when purchasing tickets, I suggest you ask for seats in the front row (or 1st few rows) of Sections 9, 10, 11 or 12 (preferably 10 or 11). The opening of the show will make it worth it for you (trust me). Otherwise, try and get as close as possible, although it really doesn't make a difference.
This is the opposite of another country show in town (which I also enjoyed). This is just Tim, Faith and the band. No big production, no corny videos, no horses on stage, no big dance routines. Just singing. For those reasons, you definitely have to be a fan of Tim and Faith's music, otherwise you will hate it.
I would totally give this show 5 stars, except (I hate to say it), Faith really struggled vocally. Maybe she was having a rough night or had a cold, but at times she sounded horrible. The strange thing is, the times she sounded the worst was during her more popular songs. She did some covers that sounded amazing, so we were really confused. Tim was amazing and sounded great all the time. You can see that they have a wonderful chemistry, even if it is just for stage purposes.
Another great piece of information: Have your cell phone/camera ready during the opening (or anytime during the show, really). They were really cool about people taking pictures during the show. It felt so wrong, but I snapped a few pics when Tim and Faith were onstage, and while they were close to our seats.
The show started a little late and was a bit shorter than I expected, but otherwise it was a great Saturday night. If you are a country fan, I definitely suggest seeing Tim and Faith while they are in town!
