Another dissatisfied customer here. Il give the condition of the car 4 stars since it was able to get me from point A to point B with great gas mileage. It did have scratches on the hood and a few dents on the door panels but other than that, the car was great.
Now for the customer service part, it gets a zero star but Yelp's lowest star rating is one star so I'm obligated to give Payless Car rental this rating. The bald guy at the counter tried the scare tatics on me. At first he wanted an additional $25/day for coverage which I politely declined. I told him I was insured thru AAA and have rental car coverage. He asked to see my membership card and I showed it to him. He continues to tell me that my coverage doesn't apply in Arizona because of a newly passed state law. I called his bluff and decided to call an agent. I put the agent on speaker with the Payless Car Rental representative to voice verify that my coverage applies in Arizona. At the end of the day, I was able to get my car close to the price Priceline quoted me a week before my trip. I hate having to prove to anyone about what my auto insurance covers or does not cover. I've never encounter such bad customer service at any car rental place. Il gladly pay extra to avoid these type of situation for better customer service. Payless Car Rental, you can suck it.
