We were on our way to a little Japanese place down Durango but the construction traffic was pretty bad. Not wanting to inch towards our bento boxes, we pulled into the Montana Meat Co for some sandwiches instead.
Montana Meat Co is both a restaurant and a bar. We walked in to the restaurant part and were eventually greeted by the busboy, but we weren't really sure what job he had. You see, we had three different waiters tending to us over the course of the meal. More on that later.
The busboy/host/waiter sat us and took our drink orders. The bartender from the bar part of the restaurant eventually took our orders: club sandwich on sourdough and pulled pork with onion rings. The food came out quickly but we never saw the bartender/waiter again as service was taken over by a waitress. At least we guess it was taken over by the waitress as she never actually told us that. She spent the rest of the time just filling our water glasses.
The club sandwich on sourdough I ordered was served to me on white bread. The club was dryer than the temperance movement during prohibition. The pulled pork sandwich was served without the onion rings.
We would have told the waitress or the bartender/waiter or the busboy/host/waiter but no one came by to check up on us. "Service sucks," we said as we supped on our sad, somber sandwiches then split.
Next time we will sit through the traffic...
