| - I come to this Safeway every day. Literally every day. Its the closest store to my house and I use it for their ATM, making money orders, groceries, but most importantly my wine! There is a great selection, and often decent brands will be put on sale for half the price. I also love their pre-made salads and sandwiches because I work late and usually don't feel like cooking. The staff is really nice, friendly, and helpful. But I imagine if you're a hipster with a bad attitude they probably don't waste their breath, so maybe that's why other people seem to have bad experiences. They are always busy, and yeah, lines will get pretty long, but if staff is available they will open another check out line and get people through as quickly as possible. If Starbucks is open, you can also take a few purchases over there and avoid waiting in line. If you're coming late at night, like I usually do, chances are most of the staff is already gone for the night so don't expect there to be a ton of check out lanes open.
Edit: Also, a lot of these idiots posting reviews are saying the stucco is peeling off the building. This was part of the design in the late 90's when the Abco that used to be there was turned into the Southwest Marketplace and the building was renovated. I don't necessarily like the design choice, but the building is not falling apart like other reviewers suggest.
