Ordered some towels online for in-store pickup. Upon arriving at the store, I asked a staff member in the jewelry department where the pickup area was located. She acted inconvenienced, pointed and stated "over there." Obviously whatever she was doing was more important than assisting a customer.
When I got to the order pickup area, the clerk ignored me while she sorted through some clothing. When I asked for help, she was indifferent and rude. At first she told me there was no order, but when I presented proof, my order magically appeared.
The store is a mess and the employees don't seem to care. No wonder there were very few customers in the store.
I was going to look for a new mattress while I was in the store, but decided I didn't want to shop where the customer is considered an interruption and inconvenience.
What the heck has happened to Macy's?
This experience resulted in my decision to shop elsewhere.
(I have worked retail and having been on the other side of the counter, make a concerted effort to be pleasant and considerate of sales staff--so no, it's not me, it's Macy's.)
