  • For a place called "The Hush Puppy", you'd think their hush puppies would be better. Their hush puppies are really just small pieces of very plain fried cornbread & are NOT real hush puppies. With enough honey butter, they're pretty tasty though. I went here looking for some catfish (I'm a Southern girl) and was surprised to see that they serve bone-in catfish and not just fillets! The catfish is ok...nothing special. They're kind of small and don't have as much flavor as I'd like, but I guess I really shouldn't complain about the catfish in the desert lol. We went on a week night & the place was pretty much dead, so there was definitely not a problem with waiting for a table. Even though there were only a hand-full of diners, the service was pretty weak. We got the all you can eat deal and had to wait a bit for food and drink refills - they only bring out 2 pieces of (small) fish at a time, so that was a little annoying. I'll definitely go back when I'm craving some bone-in catfish, but I know not to set my standards too high.
