I contracted with these people for a small job--new French patio door and bedroom door. First mistake I made was making my down payment by check and not credit card. After the order was taken I did not hear from anyone for 2 weeks. Curious as to what was going on with my installation date, I contacted them for a status update. When I got no return call within 24 hours, I fired them and requested a return of my deposit. Once I fired them, then I got a flurry of calls trying to save the job, confirming the install date etc.--you get the drift. After waiting for 3 weeks to get my deposit returned and no response, I filed a case in Small Claims Court to get a return of my deposit (Case # CC2017219845SC in Highland Justice Court district if you want to look it up). I sent them the notice of the claim via Certified Mail which I guess they refused to sign since I never got a return receipt. Guess they thought continuing to ignore me would make me go away and they could keep my several thousand dollars. Or they knew their small print no refund policy after 3 days that they never mentioned during their sales call would not hold up in front of a judge. Despite wanting to support a small business, I decided to then go check out the same doors and price for installation at a local big box store. Surprise! They could provide the same product and installation for 35% LESS than this company. Should have shopped more in the first place. The real kicker---I have about 30 single pane windows in my house that also need to be replaced. Had they taken care of me and treated me like a valued customer, they would have had an inside track on that larger job. Instead I'll never do business with them again, will share my negative experience with all I come across and take my business to the big box store where I can save money, get a more thorough sales consultation, greater accountability and get treated like a valued customer.
