| rev:text | When the longtime Trader Joe's location at Decatur Boulevard and O'Bannon closed in 2017 this former Fresh & Easy store in Centennial Hills is where the always extremely friendly, happy and helpful employees relocated.
This is my favorite specialty market for unusual, unique and hard to find truly delectable edibles, most of which are sold under the Trader Joe's brand. New items are introduced regularly throughout the year; just see the latest edition of their free in-store Fearless Flyer to see what's worth checking out. And yes, bananas are still sold individually and uniquely priced at 19ยข each.
The fact that overall pricing is usually better than that found in many supermarket competitors also does not fail to impress.
Some of my favorite and regularly purchased items include the following: olive bread and the garlic cibatta bread, diverse nuts from a very large available selection, chips and other creative snacks that will cause you to do a double take, gourmet fried onion pieces in the can (great on almost anything - especially salads), brie cheese in many varieties, braised beef roast with demi glace, selected produce items, uniquely delicious cookies, diverse sauces and condiments, a changing selection of international coffees, flavored sparkling mineral water and flavored ice teas, a bountiful selection of unusual frozen items (an international smorgasbord of side dishes as well as main courses), prepackaged coldcuts and frozen seafood, ice cream not found elsewhere and much more.
An impressively large selection of beautiful cut flowers and potted plants are available year round and in particular the long-lasting orchids are quite a steal at a cost of only $10.00 to $13.00 each (which includes a reusuable colorful pot) while other stores regularly ask $20.00 and more for comparable plants.
Whenever I come here, I never fail to happily fill my basket to the brim before leaving. Perhaps you will too? |
