Surplus has a decent selection of footwear and camping gear, I'd recommend going there especially for those. They're well stocked enough that they have those little details for camping that you always need at the last minute. They're a pretty small store, so it's naturally going to be limited. They're notably short on male apparel like camp pants, which is too bad, and their brands for outdoor clothing and packs in general are a little narrow. But then, this isn't REI or anything, so what are you gonna do?
Their prices are fine---of course you're not going to get online prices at a place that needs to pay the rent on their store. In addition, I've had great experiences with their customer service, they really went out of their way to help my mom find some hiking shoes. So that makes the price difference more palatable, especially if you need help.
As for their surplus part in the back, the less said about that the better. But then army surplus places always creep me out a little with a militia member vibe.
