The decor is superb. It definitely has an amazing atmosphere.
However, I do feel the food is overhyped. I had the famous spaghetti and meatball (I love spaghetti), it wasn't bad, just not superb enough to leave a famous impression in my mouth. The wine in the sauce could've definitely used some more reduction.
The rock shrimp app was ok. The house made mozzarella was really the star of the day. It was silky and rich and everything anyone could hope for in a mozzarella.
My partner had the scallops. They were cooked ok, could've used a bit more of a sear, but they were flavorful. The risotto bed they were on was not so flavorful. It was a bit too al dente and lacked seasoning. To be fair we had just had an amazing sweet corn risotto the week before made by Justin Beckett that may have ruined our risotto experience for every place else from here on out.
The vanilla cheesecake was my favorite part of the meal. It was as creamy as the cheese and was not overwhelmingly sweet.
The service was, as to be expected, very good.
