| - Really mixed feelings about this place. Overall, my stay was uneventful (in a good way). Staff was nice, seemed eager to please, though a bit confused half the time, but I think that's more an organizational thing than an individual fault.
This place strikes me right out the 70's. If I were going to film a 70's road trip movie, I'd pick this hotel as a location. It's not even 70's in the hipster or nostalgia kinda of way. Jokes aside, the place felt dirty, even though it was clean, if that makes any sense. The rooms felt old and dated, kinda oddly humid, and just an unclean feeling.
They were still remodeling, though unless they do a complete overhaul, I don't see it improving. Overall, though - I stayed for Epic. Good news for Epic people - it's not far from Epic, bus ride around 20 minutes - which is nice, as in the past, I've been on bus rides 45 minutes+ to get to Epic.
Also, it's not near anything. If I had a car, it may be better, but if you're flying solo - be prepared. There are some limited food options walking distance, so you won't starve, but no choice. There are some things around 15 minutes walking distance away, but my ass was walking under the highway to get there.
Other gripe is that I think all the room are interlocking - in terms there's that weird double door between rooms - and you can hear everything. Take that as you will, but I knew things about the anonymous people next door.
They had a big looking pool, I didnt use it, but it looked clean enough.
Also, they do have a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. But - be aware that its the Holiday Inn shuttle, the shuttle does not say Baymont. My ass was chilling, just staring at this holiday inn shuttle for a good while, before the driver asked me where I was. Thus - good thing - if you reserve the shuttle, they actually try to find you!
