  • This is a wonderful hotel in the heart of downtown Toronto. Beautiful rooms with a wonderful view of the city. We were on the 14th floor and had a view of the base of the CN Tower. This sounds a bit off, but it wasn't as on our first night we experienced a thunder and lightening storm with multiple strikes of the top of the CN Tower. We had a whole city at our fingertips and we simply relaxed in a dark hotel room with coffee and tea watching the lightening with good friends. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. We were attending the FanExpo event that was being held in the attached convention centre and had our tickets delivered to the hotel. They arrived and we picked them up without a fuss. Super helpful. We got a group rate with FanExpo and got $100 off a night. This was perfect for us, because we were looking for a hotel in the middle of it all and near the convention that we could stay more than a few nights. I also have to say the fact we had deluxe wrist bands and were able to go through the south entrance pedway and avoid the insanity of outside was VERY helpful and a big perk to staying at this hotel. We needed to print off a couple things and their business centre was well equipped and the basic centre was even 24 hours. very helpful! My only complaint of this hotel would have to be the restaurant in the lobby. Not for the service, decor or food, but the price was out of this world expensive!! and even worse when you ordered room service (which my husband and I often do at hotels as a treat). Also upon checkout we had to wait 15 minutes for someone to ensure we didn't drink anything from the minibar (honestly who is going to pay $8 for a bottle of beer??) thus putting us behind schedule and in longer lineups at the airport and making it to our gate only 10 minutes before boarding call of our plane. Wish We had of known this before check out to ensure extra time on our part. All in all this is an amazing hotel. very friendly, a bit pricey, but worth it. Not really suitable for families, but wonderful for a couple trying to get away and spend some quality time with fellow geeks and Batman. TIP: They take a deposit upon check in for all the beverages and items in the mini bar. be prepared to pay extra until checkout. if nothing is used, broken, etc they will refund the deposit.
