We stayed here before, and frankly, I'd stay here again.
The Jockey Club is NOT for you if you want a swanky hotel with a fabulous pool.
This is why I like it:
-- reasonable rates
-- super location, between the Bellagio and Cosmopolitan
-- well appointed suites. We lucked out and got a honeymoon suite with an extra half bath, wet bar, full kitchen and super view of the strip.
-- reciprocity with the Cosmopolitan Hotel (which boasts a better pool than Jockey Club's.)
We didn't experience any of the downsides others complained about. We were never broached about buying a timeshare. The maid came without fail every day. The beds were comfy -- even the sofa bed -- our quarters were clean, the water pressure good, we had plenty of towels ... really, nothing was lacking.
Note: you may end up on the "wrong" side of the building facing a wall. We did on our first trip, but I didn't mind because it was super quiet and despite lack of view, the suite was nicely decorated and quite comfortable.
