| - To say that this dessert cafe/bar has identity issues is an understatement
I struggled with giving it 2-star because the cakes are delicious, if this place cleaned up it would've been an easy 3.5-stars, purely on the credit of the cakes made in their "Just Desserts" factory, shipped to all the Just Desserts in town. The chocolate banana cake was jaw dropping delicious.
But alas, this place is a dive. The decor it so poorly done, it looks like a relic that time forgot. I think they carried all of the decades old decor and fixtures from the old location across the street, dropped it a few times along the way, and then got their retarded cousin to put it all back together, cause this place looks busted up.
The billiards and darts room at the back were empty and unused, and seemed a bit out of place, a little low brow, not what I expected for a dessert cafe/bar in a central neighbourhood on Yonge. The bathroom is all the way back through some cold hall that seems to take you into another building, and feels a little discomforting for a delicate lady like myself.
On my last visit the waiter was weird and awkward (socially). Considering it was a cafe, he demonstrated no knowledge of typical cafe beverages. I asked for an earl grey tea latte, and he couldn't believe such a drink even existed. He thought I wanted a shot of espresso in it! They didn't have soy, so I settled for dairy, but I won't soon be going back to suck on the teets of this mad cow.
