  • Lick It Gelato consistently delivers tasty gelato, with interesting flavours and combinations, for a reasonable price. Located on Queens Quay South of the CN Tower, and effectively across the street from the Harbourfront Centre, this is a great place to cool off after walking along the waterfront. For readers with Celiac disease, almost all the flavours are Gluten Free. My Celiac friend has come here a few times and confirmed that he suffered no ill effects. I first discovered this place (on Yelp, of course! Where else?) one late summer night three years ago, before I moved to the city. I was downtown with some local friends, we had just finished a pizza dinner nearby, but I was craving some dessert (shocker), and I couldn't find anything in the area that was still open. Lick It Gelato popped up in the search results, and it looked like I had 15 minutes until closing. I scrambled to find the phone number so I could make sure they were still open, and was able to reach the owner who said they would be open, but just in case he would call his employee in the shop to make sure. After a mad five block dash, I made it to the door with minutes to spare, and the clerk was waiting for me. She got a call from the boss, and kept the lights on just for me! That's what I call customer service! I made my selection, and wasn't rushed in any way (much appreciated), and left with a really tasty portion of gelato. The experience was such that I told a bunch of friends about it, but they were all in Montreal so that didn't really help them. Fast forward a few months, I end up moving to Toronto, and bonus - 20 minutes walking distance from this place! Score! Last summer I brought a few friends along, and got three scoops in a sugar cone for $7, and if you take a look at the picture you'll see it was as long as my arm! You can't beat the price, and it's just such a nice place, please go check it out!
