I went to Sweet Jesus for the first time yesterday to check out all the hype and all the criticisms. I make my own decisions. Note: If you happen to pass by when there is no lineup you probably won't even realize that you're right outside of the shop because it does not even face you. It is facing he street vertically. I don't like the layout of the shop. It is narrow and the cashier is located near the entrance on the customer side instead of being behind the counter. I would not want to open any kind of shop in a space like that, but it is working for them. This place does not have waffle cones. What ice cream shop doesn't have waffle cones? For $6.50 plus tax for ice cream it better come in a waffle cone!!! They have menus located on a table outside so you can tell the cashier your order right away. They have movie theatre menu boards inside listing their ice cream, popsicles and drinks but they don't list the flavours of ice cream. Normally I would find the movie theatre board cool, but come on now. They also sell canisters and bags of their own loose tea. This is an ice cream shop that does not have waffle cones or seats. They should focus on being what they are actually supposed to be and getting it right instead of trying to be cool in a way that is irrelevant. There is no seating inside, but there are some benches and chairs and tables right outside. The ice cream itself was great! My toppings quickly melted and made a mess, but whatever. I will return to try all the flavours.
