| - UPDATE: The issues with book orders appear to have been resolved. Thanks, Changing Hands!
Possibly my favorite Phoenix bookstore--all the professionalism of a large chain, with a down-to-earth friendliness of a local business. Their book selection is wide and reasonably priced, focusing mainly on newer releases, and they don't fall into the usual used bookstore problem of exclusively selling outdated or smelly books. Additionally, the front of the store is devoted to selling interesting gifts and knick-knacks for the literary minded. They host many author signing events, and the location is attached to the equally excellent Wildflower Bread Co. cafe.
Knocking a star off of the rating, however, because they never, NEVER order our book club books on time anymore, and the store can be extremely non-communicative about the issue. As such, a lot of our members end up ordering books off of Amazon or similar online stores. We want to patronize your establishment, Changing Hands, but it's impossible to do that if the book isn't there!
