I am a professional scientist. I went here for a dome show but walked around to look at a few exhibits before going to my show. I was shocked and saddened to see the amount of non-scientific learning here. Literally it was like kids playing with plastic toys with some vague connection to learning an actual science lesson. This was the saddest "science" centre I have ever seen and was nothing more than an overpriced playground for 2 year olds.
Went to the dome show about Bugs and it was horrible. The seats barely recline as you reach your neck back to see the entire screen and the seats spring back upright. You can't stabilize the recline without some spark worker telling you to keep your feet off the metal bar. It was blurry and horribly narrated. If you want to have a more educational experience stay at home and show your children Planet Earth on high definition TV. Total waste of money.
I'm actually kind of offended that they dumb things down so much...kids are a lot smarter than this place gives them credit for. Telus, if you're trying to inspire kids for a career in science, make real science exhibits not playground toys.
