| - Excellent service.. excellent steaks.
I've been to CUT in BH, and wanted to check it out here.
We made reservations on opentable.. in BH it's had to get reservations for decent times because it's so tiny there.. but this location is much bigger. They still put you close to other tables however. The chairs swivel like office chairs.. very cool. We arrived 20 minutes early and were seated immediately. We came dressed casually..
The prices are more.. $10-$20 more for the steaks. I remember the WAGYU I had was the best steak I've ever had, so I decided to pay up for something I know is good, than risk it on a new steakhouse that could be mediocre for maybe 15% less.
When describing these steaks, I'd say that they're very high end quality, but the way the season them is like no other. I would say it's like they put some kind of meaty butter flavor on them, but lock in the flavor with the char. The butter doesn't fall off like at ruth chris. I've never had a steak like this before.
We ordered two petite filets. I was amazed because the aftertaste was similar to the wagyu I had before. It's from the seasoning they use on all their steaks. One of the steaks wasn't charred as well throughout the entire piece.. this was a very minor detail though. The seasoning is really good. They did give us 4 sauces for free that we didnt get at the BH location. I tasted them and didnt like any -- they were extremely strong, and the steaks are so good any sauce would ruin them IMO. One of the bread pieces I tried wasn't as good -- they put onion in it, and it was cold when it was served warm in BH. I tried the pretzel bread and it was very good. The cheese bread was my favorite, but I wish they refilled them! The service was noticeably better here. We got refills of bread, and drink refills promptly.
We tried the creamed spinach.. and wow, I have to say it was very buttery and salty, but was excellent. We tried the french fries before and thought they were mediocre so the spinach is a better choice.
They were out of the japanese wagyu filet.. If they had it I would've ordered it. It was the best piece of meat I've ever had.
After just eating at del friscos the day before, these steaks were worth the premium.
On the receipt, we got a coupon for 25% off about 4 or 5 other wolfgang puck restaurants on the las vegas strip.
We can't wait to go back to the CUT in BH..
