| - Beautiful hotel. I enjoyed my room there, while I don't know how much I needed it, the sunken living room was a nice touch. Service here is quite good. We had breakfast in our suite for two mornings, and they would come and set everything up. However, coming to collect the dishes afterwards was less prompt. Luckily we had a large room, so it didn't bother us so much. The room with a "view" has a view of the strip and the pool. However, you also see the airport, so maybe the otherwise that shows the golf courses may have been a better option. I am so glad there are non-smoking rooms, because it is difficult to breathe everywhere else in Las Vegas otherwise. Be aware that if you touch anything of the merchandise in the room, you may be charged, because there is a weight sensor (much like in Indiana Jones). The mini fridge was so hard to open, that we decided not to even use it, since everything in there has weight sensors as well!
The casino floor is like any other casino floor. I preferred the one at the Venetian, across the way, which, btw, has tutorials for craps, black jack and roulette for those who are new to these games.
The Grand Canal shops are nice. Lots of luxury shopping choices, and tons of great eateries to choose from. It's a little easy to get lost, but luckily they have trained their security staff to be friendly and help you the instant you look lost. I did not go on the gondola ride -- the price just did not seem reasonable. However, the canal was quite impressive, and the gondolas look very nice.
