  • It was a longgggg week, and a very long Friday... I was so looking forward to a little pampering. I chose this place because it is next to the place I get my eyebrows threaded, and looked nice from the outside. Things wrong with gel manicure: Did not cut/remove cuticles. Attempted to do the gel manicure on the tiny table at the pedicure chair, with poor lighting. I explained that I was not in a rush and preferred to do the manicure at the nail station after the pedicure. She got the clear gel coating all over my fingers. So as it began to peel off skin fingers, it began coming off of the nails, too (3 days after manicure). Did not find a close gel color to match my toes (which were not gel), so my nails are a dark cherry red, and my toes are brown. Things wrong with pedicure: Paid for the upgraded pedicure with paraffin wax. She applied the scrub and rinsed it off... did not actually scrub my feet and legs. Did not use the "cheese grater" thingy on my heels - just two seconds of pumice. She applied lotion and wiped it off with a lukewarm towel... no massage or hot towel wrap as indicated on the spa menu. As she was preparing to paint my nails, I noticed she never cleaned under my toenails. I was also shocked that they don't use plastic liners for the basins. They don't accept tips on credit cards, but don't have an onsite ATM. A woman offered me wine. I asked if they had Riesling or Chardonnay, to which she replied, "yes." She then proceed to pour me WARM/unrefrigerated Pinot Grigio. I saw a woman "washing" all the used wine glasses without soap in the little sink that you wash your hands in. I hope she was just rinsing them off to be put in the dishwasher. After she "washed" them, she placed them all on a towel to dry... so not sure if they were going to receive any additional washing. My total was $70 - it was the first time in my adult life I did not tip a nail tech. I actually felt pretty bad about it, because she was such a young sweet girl... but I was not incurring an ATM fee for the horrible service I received.
