| - I have been living here since February. First expressions were amazing. We fell in love with the unit and moved in ASAP. In the first month or two the ice machine was giving us problems. It sometimes would not work, make a "loud" noise that was not normal at all, and the ice maker would overflow. When I tried to explain to the maintenance guy about our issue, he was very nice about checking it out but it was when he radio'd his supervisor that ticked me off. The supervisor said "all refrigerators make noise." Like, I was retarded or something. I thought that was pretty rude and I voiced my concerns with someone in the leasing office which I guess they fixed considering that I never seen that "supervisor" for other maintenance issues. But anyway, they ended up changing the motor of my fridge. Weeks later, I started to notice dried water coming from under my fridge and that it was kind of difficult closing my laundry room door. The water damage that was painted over before I moved in was getting worse. Yes. I noticed the water damage around the walls of my apartment before moving in but I did not think it was a big deal until I started to see that the wall behind the fridge was starting to get worse. I told management about it and I told her (Her name is Desiree) that I was concerned with mold so she had made an appointment for them to come in and check it out on a Friday. She said appointment is between 10am-12pm.... On that day I waited. But when it came to 1145am I had to call since I had work that day. Her excuse was that they were "swamped with orders"... I was thinking if you were then don't make that appointment for 10am-12p... Cuz I have a life and because of that late arrival I had to give notice to my job that I will be coming in late. So anyways, when the maintenance guy came he was the sweetest person. He was able to find the leak in my fridge and explained that he will take a part off the wall so it can dry. He even said there is no mold. But I was still concerned. Who knows how long that water damage was on the wall and what might be growing in it. My biggest concern was my son. He's 2. And when I tried to talk to Desiree about my issue, she was very insensitive to how I felt. Even while I was talking to her on the phone she was doing other things like she was not even listening to me. I even asked if I could move to a different unit since I was worried about my sons health. She stated that the maintenance guy said I refused to remove the water damaged wall and when she said that, I was very livid. I told her that, that doesn't make sense, since I've been complaining about it. She knew exactly how upset I was that she offered to come into our apartment and look at the damage. Her exact words were "I have a few things to do here and I will be there in 15-20 minutes." BUT... She never came. Unfortunately.... It's been a month and she NEVER came and she never even tried to reach out through phone about it. A few months after, there was a water leak from upstairs. my concern for mold growing has grown bigger since then and Desiree was no help at all.
I'm still bitter about it. If she wanted to be a great manager she would have tried to make an effort in trying to at least make her tenants feel safe in their own home. And I plan to purchase a mold kit to make sure there isn't anything growing. Desiree doesn't care. She may seem like she is a great manager and cares for her tenants AT FIRST... but when you have a complaint about an ongoing issue, she wont do anything about it.

UPDATE: I have moved out of this community since then... If you live in down stairs, you are very lucky if you have neighbors from upstairs who dont run around because you can hear EVERYTHING.
