Well let me just say I thought I would NEVER walk into a Japanese Restaurant and actually eat a meal. I mean NEVER thought it would actually happen people....but this place came highly recommended by a complete stranger we met at Pineapple Park (that review comes later....LOL). She was telling us about the awesome platter of veggies......mushrooms (4 different types).....Tofu.....rice.....and a drink which included a beer if you wanted.....for 10 bucks per person for LUNCH. That is very important.....you must come for Lunch to get this great deal and they serve lunch from 12-3pm.....not 11-3 like it says on the website.....LOL!!!!!
Now here is the key to this whole thing..... Shabu Shabu stands for "HOT WATER" and they use a great Shabu Shabu pot and the tables themselves are actually hot plates.....WOW!!!!! So here is what we did:
We had both the Hot Water and ,Sukiyaki sauce because we wanted to try everything. Now if you just order the Hot Water you get 3 dipping sauces (Hot, Mild and a Peanut Sauce). However if you get just the Sukiyaki you don't get the dipping sauces that is why we decided to try them both. So the veggies were brought out along with the mushrooms (all 4 types) and I just dumped everything into the Sukiyaki sauce. I also added the Tofu and Cabbage and let all of it simmer in the pot......in a word it was DELICIOUS.
The waitress brought us these great soup bowls along with some very good soup spoons so we could eat our food like soup if we wanted instead of just having it with the rice. The customer Service was awesome and the restaurant was SPOTLESS. The waitress kept coming over to check on us and offered me multiple refills on my drink (the wife had beer so no refill there.....LOL).
Now for you meat lovers they got you covered as well as all the goodies I listed above come with meat options. So to sum this up and make it EXTREMELY easy for you just ask for the L-4 Entree on the Menu and you will get everything I mentioned above. However remember you need to ASK for the split pot of Hot Water and Sukiyaki if you want the dipping sauces as well.....I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this option. This establishment is located in Henderson and is in a very uneventful Strip mall......but it is worth the trip. It was the best 20 bucks I have spent in quite a few years so when you go remember to Eat, Drink, and be Merry my Friends!!!!!!
