  • I'm no stranger to the dentist's chair. Most of my elderly relatives had/have dentures or have had problems with gum disease. I probably had more dentistry done in my early 20's than the average person does in a lifetime. As you can imagine, keeping my teeth in great shape is important to me. I moved here from NC in 2011 and I was going to the dentist about once a year on my trips back to NC. I started traveling back East less and less and really needed to find a regular dentist here. I heard about Dr. Sutton at a health fair at my job. I liked the idea of getting free teeth whitening. I think that's a very generous perk of going to this office. During the past year, Dr. Sutton has worked on every single tooth in my mouth. I've gotten to know him very well at his Tempe and Phoenix offices. I look for the same qualities in a dentist as I would in a surgeon and I think Dr. Sutton is an outstanding dentist. He's professional, kind and does great work. Given that I do get to know my dentists fairly well, the comment I'd throw in about Dr. Sutton is that he's actually a fun guy. I remember him showing me a funny video on You Tube once in between dental procedures because he said: "I know you'll like this!" And I did! Now I wouldn't be expecting him to entertain you with videos, but my point was, he knew enough about me to know what I liked. I appreciate that. The thing that has impressed me the most about Dr. Sutton is his deep sense of compassion. At the point where I realized that I needed a lot of new work done on my teeth I got very depressed about it and stopped smiling as much. I have a naturally broad smile and I started compromising and not smiling or smiling without showing my teeth. Dr. Sutton encouraged me to keep smiling, even though I didn't feel great about my teeth. He'd give me a pep talk each time when I came in. That big smile was a part of my personality. It wasn't easy, but I did keep smiling and now my teeth look better than ever, so it's easy. I know that some people have had complaints about this or that here on Yelp but don't let that sway you from getting genuinely good dental care. All dentists are not equal. I'd recommend Dr. Sutton without reservation and I have the chops (literally) to back my testimonial. I really like the staff at both the offices too. They're friendly, professional and accommodating.
