  • My fiance and I went to Station for the first time last night. Quick review: Appetizers were so good, dessert was awesome, drinks and entrees were okay. Longer review: We ordered the carrot salad and crispy wings. The carrot salad was delicious, it was seasoned perfectly with harissa and was pretty filling for being veggies. I think when you serve something called "carrot salad" you kind of have to hit out of the park, and Station does. The crispy wings were amazing, albeit a little greasy. They had a simple flavor (olive oil, parm, and chili flakes I think) but were done right. They had a foam-like white sauce drizzled on them that I could eat with a spoon. Our entrees were okay. I ordered the pork steak on the waitress' recommendation. It wasn't bad, just didn't wow me. The pork was cooked well and was served with some sort of mash and a few pieces of homemade pasta. I think the mash was the best part. My fiance ordered the tagliatelle, which we both agreed was good, except it needed salt. There wasn't any salt on the tables, which made us feel like we would be looked down on for asking for it. The panna cotta popcorn was super good, a great combination of sweet and salty, although for the price, the portion was scarce. Also, to go along with a few other reviews, the staff was pretentious and did not impress me (although the bartender was fun). The two hostesses that were working acted like they couldn't be bothered with seating people (we waited 15 mins past our reservation, even though the table was open). Also, we attempted to put in our app order first because we were hungry but hadn't quite decided on entrees and our waitress told us that the chefs request we put in the order at once so that they can pace our meal. Um, what? I've worked in a kitchen and you can "pace" a meal without having the whole order if you know what you're doing. Pretty surprised by that comment.
