  • I started going here for Kali (Filipino Martial Art), and my kids were taking Karate at USSD. Within three months, I had switched my kids over to Las Vegas Martial Arts Academy's Taekwando ... I do Kali 6 days a week. At USSD karate was 3 days a week; here it is 6 days a week (if we want it) and $50 less expensive. In addition, my kids WORK HARD, and are beginning to lose weight. Matt Lusk, (Owner, head Taekwando instructor) is extremely patient, and also very nice. This is a family business, and family environment -- we have pot lucks, movie nights and parties. Kali is just flat out fun! It's like training for light-sabers, except that it's a real defensive art! In addition, there is Judo, Brazilian JuJitsu and Instinctive Response Training (in addition to Kali and Taekwando)... And if you do more than one, the second Martial Art is just $40! WHAT!?!?! Who does that?! This place is like an good old fashioned business. I practically live there (since I now take Taekwando too! Which is a VERY good workout, BTW!!!) . I love this place. Heck, if there is a spare minute, Mr. Lusk will even play chess with you!
