  • I was reminded about a horrible experience at this stealership as my wife is AGAIN having trouble with her 2004 Nissan Sentra (search Google for "Nissan Sentra fuel issues" or "Nissan Sentra car won't start" and you'll know why). THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS CAR AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN AGAIN) So my wife was doing a favor for a friend and driving her out to this side of town when her car wouldn't move forward at all while in drive (automatic transmission). She had the car towed to Peoria Nissan that afternoon (about 3:30pm) to have them take a look. The service rep (Scott Moehn) was extremely rude to her and went so far as to tell my wife there was no way they could get to it that afternoon and that she HAD to take a rental car and leave it overnight. Inconvenient, but okay fine, it was a bit late in the day. So my wife comes home with a quote for a fuel pump and a "fuel pump repair kit" (again please see Google). I called the service adviser and asked why I would need a fuel pump repair kit when the quote also listed a new fuel pump. I was given an unintelligible and argumentative answer that made absolutely no sense. This not only proved they were trying to hustle my wife but that Scott Moehn was as rude as my wife had described (something he denied when confronted in person the next day). After reviewing the quote and being given a completely ridiculous explanation, I figured it was time to call another dealership. I called over to Midway Nissan and spoke to a service adviser regarding the issue. The adviser said he also didn't understand why I would need a new fuel pump and also a repair kit. If you're buying a new fuel pump what would the repair kit do? So he checked with one of his master mechanics and was told they had never heard of that. Sounds like it's time to have the car moved. So the following day I arranged for a tow truck to come get the car from Peoria and move it to Midway as the quotes differed by about $120. The first time the tow truck came to move the car, Peoria wouldn't release the car until they were paid. Okay fine, we offered to pay by credit card over the phone as we live in Gilbert, and they refused to do it. Okay, so now we're driving from Gilbert to Peoria to handle this in person because they won't take a credit card over the phone. WTF?!?! Yay, we get to waste more of our time and energy on this issue- fantastic. Finally get to the stealership about an hour later and had the unfortunate opportunity to meet this "service adviser" (a laughable title for this guy). I went in with my wife and 2 year old twin girls in their stroller. I advised him that my wife found him to be rude and I didn't appreciate that. In addition, I also told him I didn't appreciate being quoted for unnecessary parts to fix the problem. So this guy starts raising his voice, being rude (again), generally unhelpful and an all around asshole. This is happening with my wife and children present. All while the other 7 or 8 service advisers just sit there and watch- nobody steps in to see if they can help or diffuse the situation, just their own personal entertainment for the day I guess. Very professional guys. Where is the management? So after we go pay our bill at Peoria for the diagnostic charge and the tow (which was later refunded by Nissan corporate) it's finally time to leave (thank God). Car is towed to Midway, we go grab some food, and they have it done in a few hours. No brain damage, no issues, just a straight forward fix. Nice, the highlight of our day. Now here's the part that kills me. If you've done any of the above recommended Google searches you'll see that this is a known issue with the Nissan Sentra and sometimes it requires a new fuel pump OR a fuel pump repair kit OR a Camshaft Position Sensor OR new Spark Plugs, etc, etc. This is a KNOWN ISSUE!!!! So now, not only am I pissed at these dealerships for STEALING almost $1000 for this but at Nissan Corporate for not stepping up and admitting the issue. As I said before this is a known problem that should not have cost us a dime. NEVER AGAIN.
