I went here with two co-workers for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We had to drive around the block a few times to find a parking space as the Strip gets very busy around lunch time. My co-worker said this is his favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh so I had high expectations.
We had to wait outside because if was very crowded for the lunch hour. I thought this was a good sign. I don't eat red meat and none of the sandwiches appealed to me so I ordered a large side of grilled vegetables, roasted potatoes, and grilled corn on the cob. The vegetables were black and mushy because they were so overcooked. They had a good flavor and the optional sauces were tasty, but it was hard to overcome that they were so grossly overdone. The potatoes were also overcooked and blackened with way too much rosemary seasoning. I had to brush a lot of the seasoning off of them so they could even be edible. The corn was the best part of the meal as it was the only thing cooked and seasoned appropriately.
My other co-worker ordered the carne sandwich and was happy with it. His potatoes were also overdone and over-seasoned. My vegetarian co-worker ordered the same thing as I did and also commented that the vegetables were overcooked. I think this place is probably great if you're a meat-lover, but probably not the best choice for vegetarians. If I go again, I'll give the chicken sandwich a try, but with so many other great options in this area I'm not sure if I'll be back.
