4 star review:
I'll say the negative first. But there could be more of a selection in polishes, regular polish and gels. It's not the least I've seen at a salon. It's definitely not the most, either. (It's a pretty new salon, though, so I would expect the selection is only going to grow.)
Now, on to the positives: Viewing pics of the beautiful and classy design of the interior, I have to admit I was a bit concerned I would be intimidated by the people within the salon. There are some salon-type businesses that have people that act like you are lucky to be there, even though you are giving them money. That is NOT the case here. You will find genuine, friendly technicians with the desire to meet their clients' preferences. Even the receptionists, Leah and _______ (I''m sorry I can't recall your name), had great customer service skills, offering a beverage, and wanting to help you out with whatever you need. You will NOT find condescending or rude support staff here. Again, I'm sorry I cannot remember your name, "other receptionist." You are very welcoming and helpful, as well.
I've seen two technicians here so far, Emily and Maisha. They're both techs who put their all into meeting your needs, while also being cool, genuine, and nice to be around. I was also grateful to find someone who makes me feel comfortable in describing what my preference is. Maisha will go out of her way to meet your needs and desires and is very easy to talk to, just has a great vibe to be around. .
And I will tell you, from this Salon's Instagram and Facebook page, you can see that many here have talent. Just from memory, I can recall some names that really stood out to me as having a high level of creativity and neat, clean work, as well. That would be Rachel, Lorissa (who, I believe, also goes by "Lo"), Valerie, and Shawna (the owner.) I know I'm forgetting some, but those are the ones popping up in my head at the moment.
Most salon's background sounds can vary from relaxing spa music to lots of loud conversation. (My personal favorite is relaxing spa-type music.) Any conversation I've heard going on here is pretty quiet and definitely not disruptive. The music is current (mostly slower-paced hiphop and pop), but some songs repeated while I was there.
The prices are reasonable. Not the lowest, but I also get a quality job done, so I don't mind.
How are people complaining about they were not accommodated for a service when they didn't have an appointment? Yes, the salon says they take walk-ins. That does not mean they constantly have extra technicians lined up in the back to be SURE that every walk-in is accommodated. Even if they hired to full capacity and had 5 extra people always sitting around, there would still be times more than 5 walk-ins came in.
The location is convenient because it's right off Flamingo (@ Grand Canyon) and VERY close to the Flamingo exit of the 215. Another small bonus is that it's very close to a Starbucks, and if I'm running ahead of schedule, I can bring a treat with me. But if I don't, they offer a beverage to you there, which I already mentioned, But I just think that's a nice touch.
So to sum up: pretty reasonable costs; skilled technicians that are also very comfortable to be around; and a well decorated and elegant atmosphere.
