  • I've been trying to get over to this place since we moved to Arizona 2 years ago. Finally I convinced my wife to go because it was Father's Day. I was not disappointed. Starting off I think the beach bar was fun and not over the top with the surf boards and Tiki bar decor. I noticed a very reasonably sized bar right when we walked in which is very convenient if you just want drinks and a little food. The place was packed and we only had to wait a bit because all the low tables were in use and we had someone in a wheelchair with us. It wasn't too long of a wait and the food would have made a longer wait worth it. I'm a beer snob so the selection was pedestrian at best but their specialty drinks and hard liquor selection makes up for the lack of high end beers (I didn't show up for the booze though). We ordered the pig wings appetizer which were melt in your mouth good. We ate the appetizer so fast that the timing for the main entree seemed long but was, in reality, reasonable. I ordered the spicy mac n cheese 10oz burger and fries with the pretzel bun. My first thought when the plate arrived was that the food pics I've seen match the grandeur with which I was presented. Also, my burger was cooked medium which may be too much. Next time medium rare (and I usually like meat well done). I also think that the 5oz option is more sensible unless you are 20 years old and really hungry. The fries with the chipotle ranch were cooked well and complimented the whole meal ( I didn't have that "I loved the burger hate the fries experience I was expecting"). There was even a huge tasty dill pickle spear served on the side. The service was great. The only oddity was how soon our server asked how things were. Just so they know you don't need to ask how things are when you have such epic creations. The service was so much better than what I've experienced in many other restaurants in Arizona and that alone will keep me coming back. The next burger on my list will be the PB&J with Sriracha.
