A membership is required to eat at the tea room. Payment at the tea room is done through tickets. Every item on the menu is one ticket each. These tickets can be purchased at the front of the temple. All the items are vegetarian friendly! I was there around afternoon tea and went for the "ham" and swiss sandwich. This came toasted similar to a grilled cheese. The texture of the "meat" was great and very cheesy. I also ordered an accompaniment of lavender earl grey tea. The tea is pre-sweetened with stevia. I found it perfect to taste! If you have time to look around, there is a small free museum, a library and a bookstore. Of course the main hall is quite a site to behold but a reminder to respect the rules outside (no shoes, no pics inside).
