  • There's some things I seriously love about the Ritz: it's one of MontrĂ©al's only wheelchair accessible venues, it caters to a lot of small artists, and it entertains a lot of our alt. community's affairs (events like no pants no problem and oodles of rock camp for girls fundraisers). There's also some serious downsides to this venue: a lot of their in-house events tend to be poorly planned (thinking to the sh*t show that half of their movie screenings are), popular shows are overpacked to a seriously dangerous level and the bar is consistently understaffed and overcrowded. Mostly, I'm really critical of the lack of this security this place has- I've had my glasses busted by other inebriated patrons, I've seen people walking out truly bloody and most importantly, in the fall, a locally well-known event planner was attacked in the middle of a show and had some guy try and rip off their finger with his teeth. (???) It can be debaucherous, let me tell ya. Enter at your own risk and likely have a blast.
