If you want high quality, flavoured tapioca, you gotta visit Onezo. It's quite a small take-out space in Chinatown but if you're passing by the store-front window, you may see them making the tapioca. They have quite a lot of drinks, many of which are part of the large franchise from Taiwan.
What I tried so far (Most to least favourite):
Assam Tapioca Latte (~$5.5) - It has the perfect balance of milk and tea flavours and goes well with caramel tapioca. Tied with the following:
Taro NiuNiu (~$5.5) - Taro slush. It's the generic taro powder flavour that satisfies the taro boba cravings. I have a bias towards taro so this tasted amazing to me though. The best part is the purple yam tapioca.
Onezotapioca milk (~$4.5) - It literally tastes like a cup of milk. Milk doesn't taste bad but I'd rather spend the money to get something a little more unique here. Had it with the sesame tapioca though, which were DELICIOUS.
Mango Tapioca Milk (~$5.5) - It's cool that they use real mangos but the fibers and taste indicate it's not ripe enough. It tastes almost like orange juice, but I do enjoy the mango tapioca.
Nature Green Latte (~$4.3) - Matcha doesn't seem to be their specialty at all. I'd pass on this.
tl;dr: the tapioca is superb and tastes better because it's made fresh. It's worth spending the extra $1 on them. However, I feel like the drinks enhance the flavour of the tapioca, when it should be the other way around
