| - Just heard great things about the place, half price steaks during happy hour, etc.
We were seated right away next to the bar, it's very dark and I wondered if they had little flashlights on the menu like at Capo's up the road, but they did not. The music was really loud, therefore everyone is yelling to each other, it was a tad deafening.
Our server Joe P was not very good. As soon as we sat down he was instantly there wanting to take our order, we asked for a few mins to decide, however he was too busy chatting to and hugging friends to come back in a reasonable time, took almost 15 mins.
After ordering we got a basket of bread that was warming and crusty.
Apps arrived, My French onion soup was bland and quite sweet with a huge inedible hunk of bread on it. Johan had the clams, first time ever and he enjoyed them.
Timing between courses was terrible, good 20 mins after apps were finished did we get the entrees.
We both ordered rib eyes, one med and one med well, both with the whiskey shallot potatoes and a side of truffle Mac and cheese. However they had only 1 potatoes and one sweet potato tots, I said to the meal runner that it was wrong, then Joe P appeared and looked at his pad and said, that's correct, I wrote down sweet potato tots. Had he repeated the order back he would have picked up the error.
Truffle Mac and cheese was ok, creamy and moist. Whiskey potatoes were too greasy, just like chunky mashed with whiskey and shallots and cheese. It's so dark in there you can hardly see if your steak is over / under cooked. We took a few bites till we realized they were backwards. However both steaks were tasteless and bland, no salt or pepper on table cause they should be seasoned to perfection. $60 for this steak? Not worth it.
Joe P never checked in on how any of our meals were, had no personality, might have been an off night but we won't be back.
