This place is right by my job and I haven't had a good gyros since I was in Chicago last year. I figured why not? The staff was friendly (and possibly Greek?) and the store was small and clean. I ordered a #1, which was a gyros sandwich, fries and a drink for $8.95, which isn't a bad deal.
The gyros and fries were both good. I grew up eating gyros at Greek restaurants in the Chicago area, so I don't give out 4 or 5 stars for restaurants that serve gyros unless it is really good. My problem with this gyros sandwich was the green tomato pieces, very small amount of tzatziki sauce and not a lot of gyros meat. The flavor of the meat and the freshness of the pita were good. If the person preparing the sandwich cared enough to give me tomatoes that weren't rotting and a little more meat, this would have been a four star rating.
But he didn't care, so I will keep searching for my "go to" spot in the Valley for a great gyros sandwich.
