We made a last minute reservation here and came at about 8:30pm on a Monday night. When we arrived the waiter was really busy and didn't seat us immediately. I thought he was being rude but when we did get seated he was very sweet and apologized profusely for the wait. I soon after realized that he seemed to be the ONLY waiter working in the entire restaurant (the first floor was completely full and the second floor where we were seated was half full.) I felt so bad for him but he was able to serve us pretty quickly considering that.
For appetizers we got the French onion soup (which the waiter told us they are known for) and the fois gras. The fois gras was classic and tasty. The soup was one of the best French onion soups I've had. It was half cheese and bread (always what I secretly hope for when I order this) and had great flavor. Not overly salted like some.
For main courses I had the duck confit and my mom had the hanger steak. My duck confit was very tasty and tender and crispy-salty on the outside. However many of the potatoes it came with seemed to be pretty undercooked and raw-tasting/crunchy. My mom's steak was perfectly medium rare but a bit cold. The waiter was also nice enough to give her fries with it.
The ambiance is cute and French-feeling and I believe the walls open when it's nice outside (it was raining pretty hard when we went.) The prices aren't for every night, but they're fine for a once in a while tasty French food treat. Also bonus points for being close to the Metro (near the Sherbrooke station.) I would definitely go back!
