I just returned from J. Vair looking to replace in kind the alligator strap on my Broad Arrow. When I inquired what the price would be I was told somewhere between $350-500, but would have to leave the watch for a firm price. The two gals then attempted to convince me that the other leather straps they had were available. I would be giving up a clasp for a buckle - like putting Canadian Tire tires on your Ferrari. The younger dark haired one was quite smarmy and put out on my response.
The internet and cheap long distance had me on the phone with the Omega dude in Vancouver with a firm price and news that these straps are always in stock. So long Calgary and it just confirms my on going belief that Calgary is all about the highest price and the worst service. Timing is perfect, I am off to Vancouver in two days and will be making a 5 minute pit stop at the Hotel Van to get strapped up.
Good luck on the next 90 years J Vair! Owner Ken is decent when I've been in, but his staff falls short. I will not return because of the floor staff.
