I started taking Jazz classes here because of the Groupon deal they have going on: 16 classes for $22. I have tried other studios in the city but hadn't tried this one yet, and it is walking distance from my work and home.
I used to take competitive dance classes as a kid and teen. I really wanted to get back into dance to improve (and get back) some of my skills and stay (and get back) in shape! I thought about going to the intermediate jazz class but tried out a beginner jazz first. I felt like I could keep up but was also challenged. It wasn't TOO beginner so I haven't even tried the Intermediate yet; I enjoyed the skill level and experience at Chantal's Wed and Fri class so much. The classes are always varied with different levels of experience and ages. All the teachers I have had (Nicole, Emily and Chantal) are very friendly, helpful and encouraging to everyone in the class. My Groupon is almost expired and I already bought another deal from the studio (1 month unlimited for $50, anniversary sale offer). I am definitely going to continue going to this studio for drop in classes. I feel my skills are already improving!
The only reason I took off 1 star is because the Groupon was misleading. Groupon website says it expires in Sept. but it is actually only valid for 2 months after redemption. As well, they need at least 5 people to run a class so my class has been cancelled a few times (unfortunate since I only have a certain amount of time to redeem the classes). I probably won't end up redeeming all of my 16 classes but I have gone enough that it still works out to a fantastic savings.. so I can't complain too much about that.
*Note - I have not tried any other styles of dance here (only Jazz), so I can't comment on the hip hop or contemporary classes
