| - What a cool place!! Shipping containers stacked into 3 stories of little shops, with a center play area for kids.
Well, ok - that center play area has a big treehouse, so I officially rejected any kid age parameters (there are none here btw) & climbed on up myself. There are mutiple tube slides that you can slide down, and the highest one even has a red light/green light system so that you know you're not going to brain anyone if you go next. Fun!
There's a stage where they have live music or movies showing, & a grassy area around it with lawn furniture.
The shops have local artists' stuff, plus food, cupcakes, jerky, clothing & accessories, and toys. My fave shop was called Blue Marble - they upcycle discarded bottles of alcohol from the Strip into the COOLEST things. We also got a yummy soft red velvet sammich cookie, with cream cheese icing in between, & half dipped in white chocolate at the little cupcake shop on the first floor.
After 9pm, kids are not allowed in the area, so it turns into an adult playground. There are a few bars in the park, & people were walking around with wine. There's seating on all the outside patios.
Oh! And there's a huge metal sculpture of a praying mantis at the entrance. A guy mans it & shoots fireballs out of the antennae when it gets dark. You'll hear it, & if you stand close, you'll feel the heat.
Also at the entrance is a big metal heart sculpture where people have padlocked messages on metal tags. Sweet : ).
Just across the street (towards the spectacle that is Fremont Street) is a great little Whole Foods-y market that has baked goods, produce, a hot food area, etc. A couple blocks past is Fremont Street.
Whether you're a big kid or a little kid, or a mixed group, this is a definite must visit when you're in Vegas!
