I had no idea what a huge Asian community there was in Mesa, and I believe the highest growing group are the Vietnamese because Mekong Plaza is a popular shopping center with tons of Vietnamese and Chinese eateries. I came here by accident because I was looking for a cup of tea late in the evening and it appeared most of the other cafes in the vicinity had already rolled up their carpets. Of course this was a boba place filled with Asian adolescents focused squarely on their phones. But wait there was more...
You can also get shaved ice and hot Cheetos. Hot Cheetos? I played it safe and stuck to my original intention. I ordered a $3.95 Hot Honey Green Tea which was piping hot but gratefully not too sweet since I put a kibosh on adding any sugar (photo: http://bit.ly/2IyJ7qh). I took it to go since I was raising the median age significantly with my presence in the shop. I definitely want to come back and try the food court since there were two places serving cheap Hainan chicken.
