  • Oh Six Penn... I wish I wasn't so torn on this review, but sometimes that happens in the Yelp world. First, let me say that the atmosphere is probably my favorite thing about this place. There are 3 levels total. The first level dining/bar area which allows a view of the kitchen, the second level that also has a bar, but is more of an event space and last the roof top which is my favorite space. The roof top is pretty tiny, but they have high top tables, cabanas and a tiny bar area which makes this a cozy spot for brunch or happy hour. Since there are 3 levels they do have an elevator for those that cannot climb steps. This is important because I have been to restaurants that are not handicap accessible. Lets get down to the nitty gritty and talk about the food. Keep in mind the brunch menu does change, so if you see something you want do not wait because it might not be there. My friends and I had brunch here this past weekend. The roof top is first come first serve, no need for reservations. I ordered a peach bellini ($9) and the pork shoulder hash ($14) which included eggs, toast, asparagus, portobello mushrooms and fingerling potatoes. I was slightly disappointed in my dish. Only because the pork was EXTREMELY fatty and I hate fat. My friend ordered the same thing and hers had no fat on it. Hers also seemed to be cooked more thoroughly than mine. Needless to say I left a skillet filled with pork for our waitress to take back. The other ingredients were extremely tasty on their own without the pork so I scarfed them down instead. I also would like to comment on the fact that their drinks are pretty pricey. A bellini is pretty basic and comes in a tiny champagne glass; charging $9 seems a bit much. If you want to get your money's worth and enjoy boozy drinks, head over to The Urban Tap for their mimosa flights.
