Came in here today because I was helping a friend look for a bike helmet. What we got when we came in was an associate standing at the counter staring at us, when we clearly needed assistance. Had to hunt another reluctant sales person down. My friend decided on a helmet after no assistance at all--then we were standing at the register waiting awkwardly while associates looked hesitant to serve us because they were in their own cooler than thou world. When some bearded staff member came he totally ignored my friend and served this hipster doosh(sp) standing behind her...seriously??? it's like if you don't look like their kind you get ignored....way to keep cycling elitist.
UPDATE: July 22/13
I am writing an update to add one star to my review. This is after Pete. L, the owner of Sweet Pete's personally contacted me to apologize for the poor service that me and my friend received when we were in there the last time. It was a very thoughtful message, and he was nice enough to offer a free tune up.
However, I had to politely decline...Pete himself might be a nice guy himself, but I can't say the same thing for his staff that will be doing the free tune up job. First impressions do make a huge impact, and I can't say I could trust them to do a good job on my bike considering that they had a huge attitude problem when I came in there. Sorry Pete.
