| - Already planning my return! My birthday and anniversary have both just passed, so will have to make up a reason... But will definitely be back soon. Must. Get. Dessert. Having said that, consider sharing a salad as a starter. The roasted carrot salad with bread and cheese was well presented, farm to table fresh and flavorful. For dinner, I had pesto pasta ( coins of pasta with pressed designs ) -the grilled zucchini and baby greens on top were fresh and yummy with toasted nuts providing textural depth. Right size portion after salad and leaving room for the must have dessert. My husband was also pleased with his entree, the sausage stuffed quail. He said it was tender and delicious. ( I did not try as am a vegetarian ).
Dessert was a step above in both execution and quality. I loved the affogato that many others have praised, but my husband's goat's milk cheesecake was fabulous! Graham cracker cookie with creamy cheesecake, pine nut gelato, and grilled fruit added up to complex perfection.
I ordered a drink that wasn't on the menu (amaretto sour), and unlike other diners'comments, the bartender was very accommodating and made me a great cocktail! I also ordered a ginger-based cocktail on the waitresses' recommendation which was excellent and had special frozen juice cubes that were great and did not water down my drink... An excellent touch. My husband enjoyed his wine by the glass as a compliment to his meal. The wine list was adequate, but not extensive.
Ambiance and service were both excellent. Our server was knowledgable and friendly and gave us fabulous recommendations. Generous and descriptive but not at all condescending. She truly wanted us to enjoy our meal. Our water was refilled immediately when getting low at least four times ( I was thirsty).
I will be back as soon as possible. Perhaps next payday. A superb, romantic date with my husband where everything was as amazing as my date!
