| - "Le Reve: A small collection of imperfect dreams" was a perfect dream for me, Jessica and Nicole during our first night in Vegas. It was a spectacular aquatic-acrobatic performance that took our breaths away. We had the pleasure of being treated to tickets to the show by Nicole's amazing cousin, who had seen Le Reve 7 times before. If he'd seen it 7 times, we were certain the show would be phenomenal. Indeed it was.
As we arrived at the theater inside Wynn, I was really surprised to see what an intimate venue it was, and with the round aqua stage set in the center, there was no bad seat in the house. The first row was incredibly close to the 1 million gallon pool, but although the guests sitting there had a fantastic view, they were at risk of being splashed throughout the performance. Those sitting in the VIP section had monitors screening backstage/underwater footage during the show, which is really cool.
I won't reveal too much about the show (you'll have to go see it for yourself!), only that the sets were really amazing, and it's easy to see how the show is one of the most expensive ever produced. I could also see how many would mistaken this as being a Cirque du Soleil show, because the creator was the former creative director at Cirque - as the creative dramatic & comedic storyline, haunting music score, intricate choreography, and incredibly talented performers with beautifully sculpted bodies are all indicative of Cirque shows. Unfortunately, I've never seen "O," but I hear that they are both wonderful in their own ways.
I thought the length of the show was just right, and there was never a dull moment. I mean, how could there be? This is, after all, Vegas, baby!!
