We followed the restaurant's aphorism and seized the day, only to be reassured that my husband's culinary skills are far superior when it comes to making their most "famous" dishes. The grilled grape salad is nothing special at all. I didn't find the flavor combination to be balanced. The buttermilk fried chicken was just ok. It's two breasts that are obviously brined, wet battered and then fried. Not much flavor or seasoning except in the gravy, which is a milk based white gravy, so has breakfasty feel. The mashed potatoes were good but the spinach was unseasoned. The coffee creme brûlée has an excellent flavor but a weak texture.
All in all, I was underwhelmed but now I know! The hype isn't real.
Highest Recommendation: The Seafood Soup, which happened to be tonight's special.
