  • Great Buffet for lunch. I definitely want to come back for dinner. We stopped in yesterday since we were in the area. It did not disappoint. All the food was fresh, refilled continuously and plentiful for our small party. There are enough tables to get seated right away. Here you won't have to wait like other food joints. This is important when you only have an hour for lunch. I have had them at the convention center before and by all means, this buffet was the best deal off the strip. At $10.95 for the lunch buffet from 11:30am-2:00pm, I got enough to eat I skipped dinner. The service was impeccable. The wait staff was courteous and always refilling our drinks, bringing over more Nan and asking if we needed anything else. Right now, you get a free Mango Lassi (Mango Smoothie) when you check in. Lassi is a yogurt smoothie with fresh fruit and spices. It's thick and creamy and helps cool your palate if you are eating something spicy. The buffet had many choices, from traditional Pulao rice to 5 different curries and 3 choices of chicken dishes, salads, vegan dishes, and plenty of veggies to get your daily requirement. It was very filling. With our food came a large basket of 3 different kinds of Nan to dip in your food sauces. Nan is Indian flat bread used to eat your food (like a tortilla). All 3 kinds were delicious, Apricot and raisin filled, cheese filled and garlic & coriander topped. My favorite was the garlic. It added an extra kick to every savory bite of Chicken Mahkani I ate. I also tried the house salad, which is your traditional restaurant house salad for those watching their figure. The vegetable samosa has a little kick but tastes like a party in your mouth. It's too good not to try at least once. The Chicken Curry, Lamb Tikka Masala, and Palak Paneer were authentic and fresh. Hard to come by at a buffet. Dessert, where to we begin? (Yes I had dessert at lunch, YOLO!). To try something different beyond the typical chocolate lava cake you find at every restaurant (gag!), we went for the Almond Kulfi (thick creamy almond ice cream) and the Gajar Ka Halwa (Carrots with raisins and slivered almonds cooked in cream, served warm). It was delicious! You have to try it during your visit. Origin India is the spot for Indian food near the strip. You have to give it a try.
