| - Beware of CenturyLink Billing processes:
Although CenturyLink cashed my check, they still show the amount is unpaid, now past due and with a late penalty. I have called CenturyLink numerous times and they gave me a fax number to send all my information, including my BANK STATEMENT to a Billing Research Department! (The cleared check, front and back, were not enough.) Since then, I have heard nothing and the next billing cycle is ready to roll forward.
CenturyLink has NOT contacted me to confirm that they received the fax and that they are looking into the matter. I continue to call the customer service reps but they tell me that the Billing Research Dept. are the only ones who know and they have no way to contact them or access to the billing research information. The customer service reps have also been unable to verify that my fax was received by the Billing Research Dept. I went over to the CenturyLink office in Green Valley Henderson and they, like the telephone reps, also cannot provide any more information than I already have. While at the Green Valley office, I have paid my most recent bill (minus the amount they cannot "find") with my Mastercard, figuring if there is a problem, MC can sort it out with them.
CenturyLink's billing system seems incompetent to say the least and does not speak well of CenturyLink. I think it is probably time for us to do some research of our own and that is finding a provider that can competently handle the billing and payment process. Checking on the internet , it appears that my situation of payments not being applied are frequent at CenturyLink. I would like to understand how this is happening.
