| - My husband and I are both myopic people from families of myopic people, so we are used to getting new glasses every few years. And so we're both also used to the big retail chains where you shuffle in, see a doctor whose name you never know, and get shuffled out to pick your glasses from endless and expensive options.
Diversified Eye Care Associates is not that. It seems to be a two-man operation, Dr. Graham and his assistant (whose name I unfortunately forget). Aside from great and thorough eye care (with the option of some of the latest technology: my husband has a family history of retinal detachment and so was able to get retinal photography done), you will be treated with kindness and friendliness, by two very personable people. The eyeglass selection is not huge, but I love that. There is a wide and varied selection without the endless repeating and eerily similar frames you see at the big eyecare chains.
They are also thorough and attentive to detail. The assistant noticed the tiniest mar on my lenses when they came in, called to make sure I knew about it, showed me when I came in, and gave me the option to either have the lenses replaced immediately, or take them home and wear them a few days to see if it would affect me, with the option to bring them back and get them replaced if it was an issue. I picked option two, since this was a tiny, tiny spot, so small I can't even find it unless I am in sunlight.
Needless to say, this is the eyecare office we will be coming back to as long as we live in Matthews, and if (when) our kids eventually need glasses as well.
