| - I lived at this complex for about 8 months. The management is unable to complete basic tasks. EVERY month I have been here there has been a significant issue.
Month 1: On the move in day the unit was not ready. It was not ready until the next day that I could start to move furniture into the unit. When I arrived at the unit, the maintenance team was repairing the door. It appeared that the door had been kicked in. They were holes in the ceiling, toenail clippings on the living room floor, and a strong musty smell throughout the unit. I was told that everything would be repaired, and nothing was. I placed several work orders through the online portal. WHILE THE ISSUES WERE LISTED AS "RESOLVED", NO ONE SHOWED UP. I imagine this is something that management does in order to hide their negligence from the parent company, Alliance, and hide the fact they do not tend to maintenance issues in even a remotely timely manner. This is something that frequently occurs at this complex. I took it up with management and I was told that it was my fault for not resubmitting the issue, which I had a few times. Each time the issues remained unresolved while the online portal listed them as completed.
Month 2: I was overcharged $700+ and it took a month to get the issue sorted out.
Month 3: My car was vandalized in the complex. Crime does happen everywhere. It's just frustrating to find the security guard asleep at the tables by the main office pool late at night and have this occur.
Month 4: The refrigerator went out and it took over a week to get a fix. I was not reimbursed for lost groceries either. This has happened a total of 3 times and has cost me a few hundred dollars in lost groceries.
Month 5: Illegal drugs found in the open in laundry facility. Went back the next day, drugs were still out in open. (BTW: the laundry facilities not by the sales office are in complete disarray on a regular basis) Also, HOMELESS PEOPLE FREQUENTLY SLEEP IN THE LAUNDRY FACILITY.
Month 6: Utilities in the ENTIRE complex shut down for safety reasons. There was no hot water or laundry facility access for 4 days. The management did not do anything to help tenants. Tenants who stayed at a hotel in order to take a shower ( as the water in the unit was 43 degrees) were not reimbursed.
Outside of these issues, expect dumpsters to be overflowing on a regular basis, dog droppings everywhere, broken pool equipment, broken locks on the laundry facility every few weeks, murky water from the sink, shoddy repairs, and a bad attitude from one of the workers in the main office. Oh, and turn on the heater one day in the winter.... expect your smoke alarm to go off- Scary.
Personally, I feel that I was given a "bait and switch" routine as the unit I moved into looked nothing like the model unit. If you are hard-pressed to find a place to live, then keep looking. Other nearby apartment complexes in the same price range and even some at a lower price offer safe and clean residences with reliable utilities.
UPDATE:
3/15/16: There is now NO WATER IN THE ENTIRE COMPLEX.
3/16/16: No water again today
3/23/16. So the water was turned off again today without notice. Spoke with a few of my neighbors and they confirmed the same thing happened to them as well.
I was looking into other apartments in the area. I found a particular complex that looked very promising, but when I saw that it was managed by Alliance, the company behind the Park at Deer Valley, I immediately withdrew my application. If there is anyone from Alliance reading this, please feel free to contact me. The statements I am writing are accurate and can be verified. To the people reading this review, please find somewhere else to live. I do not wish anyone, even a complete stranger, to live in a place like this.
The current management here are a bunch of crooks; STAY CLEAR OF THIS DUMP.
