Drink variety. Quality Service. Bread Pudding! The three reasons I would suggest Pirata. The food is pretty good too, but it won't necessarily blow your mind. The sweet plaintains and beef patty are the two items that lovers of the Jamaican or Cuban variety of food will not be disappointed in. The sweet plaintains are delicious and true to form, the beef patty is softer and less flaky than what you could purchase on the streets of Jamaica. For entrees, the Arroz con Pollo was pretty tasty, and pretty spicy but not great, overall. The croquettes too lack much to be desired. However, if you make it to dessert (or even start with it), the bread pudding with fresh whipped cream is to die for!! You could have it with a glass of any rum known to man and the service you'd receive the entire time would be flawless. Staff is friendly, helpful and genuinely cares about the customer experience. The location is also just far enough away from Market Square to provide good opportunity to actually get parking which is always a huge bonus downtown. Put Pirata on your list.
